The Coco Loco cocktail, known for its tropical taste, originated in the Caribbean and Latin America, where coconuts and tropical fruit are abundant. This cocktail is like AZOTEA, as it captures the essence of a tropical escape, often served right in the coconut shell. Traditionally, the Coco Loco combines coconut water or coconut cream with a variety of liquors such as rum, tequila, and vodka, along with citrus elements enhancing its fresh, zesty flavour.
While the exact origins are up to debate, the Coco Loco is especially popular in beach destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Colombia. In Colombia’s San Andrés Island, it is a local specialty, where bartenders often add their own unique spins.
Today, the Coco Loco has become a vacation staple, often associated with lounging on the beach or relaxing by the pool. Its variations reflect regional twists, from using local liquors to adjusting the sweetness or adding other tropical fruits. The drink's popularity has also expanded internationally, making it a symbol of tropical relaxation and beachside living or in this case, your own home.
